It's been a busy week.

Earlier in the week, a good friend of mine, [livejournal.com profile] lart_matt, offered to host the Pleasure Activism Australia Web site for free :-D, so there was some stuffing around involved as we tried to configure the domain name to point to the new server. We got there in the end, though, and it's all working fine. :-) The new server also allows me to provide content to WAP-enabled mobile phones, so those people with a WAP browser on their phone can now read the PAA news feed by simply visiting the PAA site on their mobile. Heh. :-)

[livejournal.com profile] sacred_harlot has been working hard on finishing her end-of-semester uni essays. She handed one in on Friday; the other one is due this Friday. Additionally, she's had to deal with the fact that the owners of the house she is renting have decided to sell it, which has meant that there have been various people traipsing through her home - real estate agents, photographers, floor plan people, etc. Her lease does not run out until the end of the year, so regardless of what the new owners of the house want to do with it, she'll be able to stay there until then. If the new owners intend to continue to rent the place out, i can only hope they're better owners than the current ones, who, amongst other things, have refused to install an oven - the house doesn't currently have one. :-/

[livejournal.com profile] naked_wrat has been trying to complete her thesis. She recently asked for, and was granted, a two-week extension to complete her thesis, which means it's now due mid-June. Unfortunately, she's since taken ill - she's not been feeling the best over the last couple of days, but today she broke out in a rash - possibly hives? - and has had a constant headache. She's been trying to rest, but is finding it difficult to do so, knowing that time is continuing to tick away towards her thesis deadline. So i think a vicious circle has developed. :-( In any event, if she hasn't improved by tomorrow, we're going to take her to see a doctor.

Today my housemate went through a lot of the junk, semi-junk and not-junk that i have accumulated over the years and sorted it out for me. She's looking to become a professional organiser (in the "get one's house organised" sense), and is doing this partly as a practice run, partly so that i can provide a testimonial (more on that shortly), partly as an early birthday present, and partly, i suspect, to have the satisfaction of chucking away a lot of the stuff she's seen me lug around over the years (she's my former partner of 9+ years). As for the testimonial: i can honestly say she is doing an awesome job. She's not yet finished, but she's made a lot of progress, and has at least halved the amount of cupboard space everything was taking up. "i happily recommend her for all your house-organising needs." :-)
