WorldNetDaily, bringing you the ideologies of the 19th century via the technology of the 21st!

"Women! Someday is today"

Some choice quotes from the article:
Is motherhood instinctive or learned behavior? Both religion and science tell us that it is instinctive, much to the distaste of the feminist ideologists, who have never been overburdened by a solid grasp on either.
Let everyone know that marriage and children is your ultimate goal. Too many women, fearing the wrath of the Sisterhood, secretly wish for them while publicly and piously professing feminist-approved cant to the contrary.
Shed your man-hating friends, as well as those who buy seriously into the Equalitarian dogma.
Don't you love the totalitarian-style callout to women? And of course, we all know that feminism isn't about hating the oppression of people based on their sex and/or gender - it's just about hating men! :-P

In other news, i had a very brief rant in the [livejournal.com profile] queer_rage community about some transphobia i encountered earlier today. As always, i'm saddened and disappointed to see queers treating other queers with such disdain. :-(

*sad nod*

Re. the trans stuff, it's been a really full-on thread - it's been implied that i should just grow up, choose to be either all male or all female, and then lead a 'normal' life. :-(

SDLFKSSDFDLSFHSLK. *spasms and dies*

[rant]
What kind of brain-washed narrow-minded binary-obsessed oh-no-please-don't-mess-up-my-pretty-world-illusions person would say such things? For that matter, why pick on polygendered type people for not leading "normal" lives? What about goths? They're not leading "normal" lives. What about people who choose to work as travelling musicians? They're not leading "normal" lives...what the heck is a "normal" life supposed to be anyway? The most influential people in history were people that dared to live abnormal lives.

How dare this person imply that living any life other than corporate white trash is invalid? (Not that there's anything wrong with living as corporate white trash if it makes people happy...but that's not the point.)

I hope karma bites them in the butt. >(

Indeed.

At least people's comments on [livejournal.com profile] queer_rage have been supportive . . . . i find being attacked by a queer person to be more difficult to cope with than being attacked by a straight person, because i keep (forlornly) thinking that their own experiences of being queer will help them to understand where i'm coming from.

I just read that thread, and I got about a fifth of the way through before my mouth just dropped open. How can someone not realize how offensive that shit is? Especially another queer person? How can someone who has to deal with a heteronormative culture repressing her sexuality then turn around and do the same damn thing?

It's all the same shit. Bisexuality, in and of itself, is breaking gender norms, whether the person is cisgendered or not. homophobia/biphobia comes from a rigid, gender-based code of conduct. Same shit.

*sigh* I see this all the time. Queers who lash out against, erm, "queerer" queers. The ones who are perhaps even less acceptable to mainstream society.

Like the HRC. I support them, because I feel like I can't be too choosey about my allies, but I'm getting really tired of the whole push to adapt queerness to heterosexual norms. God fordid I offend straight people. Sheesh. Sounds a lot like, "I don't mind if you're queer, but can't you act straight in public?" Doesn't it?

UGH. Sorry. This shit pisses me off quite a bit. I'm sorry that mental midgets can't find anything better to do than attack you.

Rock on with your bad self.

I just cant believe people can think that way...I mean they do and I know they do but I just dont get it myself...but then maybe I am naive...

And for the record I know nothing about the trans person she was commenting on the 'ugliness' of but I thought that person in question was attractive lookswise in those photos...

*sad nod* i'm similar . . . . i know that people think like that, but find it difficult to comprehend why . . . .

Re. the person whose attractiveness was being commented on: Ann Coulter is a very right-wing political commentator in the US. There has been some speculation (varying in degrees of seriousness) about whether she's 'actually' trans, but as far as i know, she was born physically female. In any event, other people who i've showed the pictures to have also felt that she is reasonably attractive (despite the 'ugliness' of her politics).

Thanks for your support. :-) i know that i partly brought it on myself, but when i see such awful attitudes, i find it difficult not to respond to them . . . .

it is worth noting that no society that possesses artificial wombs, robot sex dolls, multiplayer video games and 24-hour sports networks is one in which men are likely to show a tremendous amount of interest in relationships or the opposite sex.

Because I would die if men stopped showing interest in me and other women, what would I don’t in a world of sexually frustrated bored women...

And remember girls, before you get all high and mighty you are nothing more that your womb and your cunt.

Just as long as they dont invent artificial wombs and robot sex dolls, because then you will be stuffed again.
