Breakup

Today sacred_harlot and i broke up.

sacred_harlot really made a huge effort to deal with having a poly partner who has another primary partner, but in the end, it's just become too much for her.

There's no question but that we're going to remain (at the least) very close friends. i still consider her and her family to be family. But we're also hoping to develop a way of relating that honours the deep connection we have for each other as well as the deep love we still feel for each other. We still call each other soul mates, after all.

It's just so stupid that two people who feel so strongly about one another have such different relationship styles that neither of them can have the relationship they both want.

So many tears, and i doubt they'll stop flowing for a while.

O hun, I am so sorry for you, this all really sucks, I have had my own mono/poly stuff a little while ago which almost ended my relationship, it sucks and it feels so pointless, like it shouldn't matter but it does.

Dear Soul Mate,

It has only been a day or so since we had to make that horrid decision - it feels really sore and hardly bearable :-(( When such fundamentals are in opposition there is tragedy like this. I am so sorry that it is not possible for us to be anything other than extremely great loving friends. However, that possibility is such a blessing that /really/ honours the connection we share!
