sacred_harlot and i have talked about the new situation we find ourselves in, and sacred_harlot has come up with an expression that we both feel perfectly describes where things are at: "intimate friends". It accurately conveys how close we still feel, and want to be, with each other, both physically and emotionally, even though we are no longer partners. We like to think of it as being somewhere between monogamy and polyamory. :-)
i must say, this experience has made me appreciatesacred_harlot even more than i already did (which was a lot!). She's such an incredibly warm and caring person; her loving support through all this has really helped me to come to terms with the new situation. For her to consider me a friend is, i feel, both an honour and a privilege. (And it disturbs me to think of how many people take a casual approach to sacred_harlot - so many people only contact her when they need to dump their own problems on her and to ask for her support, rather than also contacting her just to say hello. :-/ )
And of course,naked_wrat has been wonderful as usual, offering her love and support to sacred_harlot as well as myself.
It really is fantastic to have such amazing people in my life!

I don't expect that many will understand what we are doing here, but you know what, I just don't care! I am feeling the happiest I have felt in such a long time! My mind has been set free! And I still have you in my life as much or as little as we want, and our love to continue to celebrate!!! How amazing is this - we get to negotiate and set the boundaries that /we/ feel comfortable with!
