The funny thing is, I don't really feel female, I defiantly wouldn't ever describe my self as a "womyn born womyn" but they would have no problem with me attending cause I have those nifty internal genitals I have been hearing so much about.

It makes me think of Alison Bechdel's comic about her experience there. In true Bechdelian form, a big sign over the gateway to the festival said "Womyn-born womyn only!" with a smaller sign hanging below that read "Enforced by random chromosome checks".

Now... didn't Bitch and Animal perform there? Doesn't Animal identify as gender-variant? But, of course, since ey doesn't have a penis, ey must be a girl, right? Sort of in the same vein as "'FtM' is a cute little term that means 'butch lesbian'!" -_-

That occured to me as well, the talk about the people who go to that festival as gender-variant or other-gendered but when it comes down to it they still see them as female, yep, that sure is radical! people are defined by there genitals.
