Not doing particularly well today . . . . i'm really dizzy, and can barely stand up. i was really struggling to keep my eyes open earlier, but i didn't want to go back to sleep because i was having intense dreams that were making me wake up in cold sweats.

On a bittersweet note, i finally retired the venerable Galeon as my browser-of-choice, and switched to Firefox 2.0. The Gecko-based Galeon was, at one point, the official browser of the GNOME project; but it has since been replaced in that capacity by Epiphany. Galeon has served me very well; it has a combination of features that i've struggled to find in other browsers, but which i've come to rely on in Galeon (including automatic session save upon quit and unexpected shutdown, smart bookmarks, hierarchical bookmarks, description fields associated with bookmarks and good cookie management). Unfortunately, though, it's no longer being actively developed, as the developers believe that the Firefox-like approach of Epiphany - minimalist, with features added via extensions - can replace Galeon. So with the advent of Firefox 2.0, i realised that it was time for me to switch.

And Firefox 2.0 is excellent. For the last 24 hours, poor [livejournal.com profile] sacred_harlot has had to put up with me continually enthusing about how great Firefox is. :-) And with the various Firefox extensions i've installed, my Web browsing experience has definitely improved overall. :-)

Goodbye, fair Galeon! Thank you for your service.
