Auto-save doesn't

Note to self and others: LiveJournal's "autosave draft" feature is not reliable. Less than half an hour ago, i was in the middle of writing quite a long LJ entry - and LJ was regularly informing me that it had "Autosaved draft". i had no reason to disbelieve this, since this feature has worked in the past. However, my box's power cord unfortunately got disconnected, and the box shut down. When i restarted, and LJ restored my 'draft', it only restored the first 7 characters of the entry. :-((

So from now on, it's back to using vim to compose long entries, cutting and pasting the entry into my LJ once i've finished.
