Cursing

There's been a couple of people on the Theistic Satanism Yahoo! group asking after curses. Two things have come to mind in this regard:

• Curses are not for me. If i feel that i'm on the receiving end of what i would consider to be negative energies, i would rather work on trying to create some sort of defensive 'shield' around myself than start trying to throw similar stuff back. This is partly because, on the basis of much experience, i do agree with the notion that we tend to get back what we put out; and partly because to throw stuff back would suggest that i know precisely how to achieve exactly what i want without any unintended side-effects.


• Magickal 'recipes', that people can supposedly just follow and achieve results without having any individual connection with the elements of the recipe in question seems rather . . . . odd, to me. i'm not sure that magick can be worked in the same way that one 'works' a television set, that one can just "press buttons" and "adjust controls" to achieve the effect one wants, without at all understanding how the system works. Instead, i feel that one needs to have a reasonably strong connection with all the elements of a magickal working for it to have any noticeable effect. But i may be quite wrong on this.

In any event, i'd prefer to spend time and energy lifting myself up than trying to bring others down . . . .

never understood people who put ALOT of energy into harming one when the best revenge would be to live well and make them seethe in jealousy.
