Actual first post :-)
2005-01-10 20:20Well, i've decided to actually start keeping an LJ, instead of just having an LJ account to facilitate me keeping up with the LJs of friends. i made this decision for a couple of reasons:
My posts here will probably revolve around sexuality, feminism, Free/Open Source Software (FOSS), and mathematics. This is because i am, in no particular order, a nerd1, a witch, a sex-positive feminist, transgendered, bisexual, polyamorous, and last but most certainly not least, a pleasure activist. So you have been warned. :-)
- i often feel the need to post a rant or rave which would seem a bit out of place on many of the lists i'm on, either because it is way OT or because it would seem too much "out of left field", so to speak;
- There are LJ communities i'd like to participate in, and i'm not really in a position to do that unless i actually keep an LJ myself. :-)

1. i have recently started using the word 'nerd' rather than 'geek', because although the two terms were roughly equivalent when i was younger, the semantics of 'geek' seem to have broadened in a way that the semantics of 'nerd' have not; and i think the semantics of 'nerd' are more appropriate. :-)
