flexibeasti've really been appreciating many of the rages being posted to the ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
feminist_rage and queer_rage communities. One such rage was a rage about prescriptivist behaviours in the trans* communities. It always upsets me to watch one harassed minority to complain, correctly, about the poor treatment they face, and then themselves engage in similarly negative behaviour against other minorities. In my experience, queer assimilationists in particular are prone to doing this: witness, for example, their claim that the reason queers aren't accepted is because of so-called 'extreme' queers who aren't 'normal' enough for heteronormative society to deal with. Victim-blaming much? :-/
