The wonderfully caring Australian government has decided to allocate Federal funds to allow chaplains in public schools:

The $90 million program will be voluntary and allow schools to appoint chaplains or share one with another school.Of course, there's no way such guidance could be given by someone who isn't a senior religious figure, is there? And let's not worry about the appropriateness of having to choose a chaplain from one particular religious denomination, who might not (and i imagine, probably won't) represent the spiritual beliefs (or lack thereof) of all the students at a given school.
Workplace Relations Minister, Kevin Andrews, has told channel Ten there is a need for students to be given guidance.
